I saw this sign and smiled at the spelling. But then I tried to remember how to correctly spell the word, and found that I couldn’t without looking it up.

As far back as I can remember — I guess as far back as I’ve known what one was — whenever I see dark, stormy clouds in the sky, I look to see a tornado forming. And I’m always disappointed to never find one.

But even without a whirlwind of destruction, just looking at the roiling forms is often very cool. I laid down in our driveway to take these photos of the storm clouds passing overhead.

Having referred to my running the Rugged Maniac obstacle run in my previous post, I just realized that I never posted my official photos from the race.

Near the end of the run, there is a fire obstacle — a line of burning wood you have to leap over. You can feel the heat as you pass over it, but it’s the smoke and fumes coming up at you as you’re breathing heavy from the run that gets you.
