Check out this babe, whom I completely snookered into marrying me:

You’d think, a woman smart enough to earn two degrees — one in Education, another in Nursing — would also be smart enough not to fall for a total geek in college. Ha!

Funniest thing is, we dated before putting our relationship on official paper with a marriage. So she completely knew what she was taking on. Even from the beginning of our relationship, I never hid my comic book collection or my Dungeons & Dragons hobby.

Okay, this is a little better. I’m even actually smiling a bit. I think Cowgrit was pinching my butt. Else, maybe I’ve got a new comic book in that bag, and I’m thinking about it more than thinking about the camera pointed at me.

We also hit Florida, New York, and Texas for vacations through our early years. But with the birth of our first son in 2001, and our second son in 2004, we had to take a break in our long-range vacationing exploits — traveling on airplanes with a small child ain’t easy. Then once the boys were old enough for us all to go on extended travels, our major vacations have mostly been to Walt Disney World. (And that’s fine with me.)

I absolutely love this picture. This is how I picture my family in my mind when I think of them. All smiling and happy.

And here are the boys starting school this year, 2011:

First grade and fifth grade. What Cowgrit can do with the genes I had to offer is quite impressive.
