The Grit family — Bullgrit, Cowgrit, Calfgrit7, Calfgrit3, and Momgrit — will be on vacation all of next week. We’ll be driving all day Saturday to Disney World in Florida. We’ll be staying the week in the Walt Disney World Port Orleans French Quarter resort. We plan to visit Animal Kingdom on Sunday, Epcot on Monday, Hollywood Studios on Tuesday, and Magic Kingdom on Wednesday. Thursday and Friday are left open to go back to whatever we want to revisit, or to possibly go visit Sea World. Then we’ll drive back home all day next Saturday. Six full days in Disney World!
Unfortunately, with the active storms in the Atlantic headed this way, it may rain a lot during our stay. But, as they say, a rainy day in Disney World is better than a sunny day at home. Even if it does rain, the parks will be open, most of the attractions are indoors, and who the hell is going to care if we get wet? We’re on vacation!
I may post about our adventures in the Happiest Place on Earth when we get back, but I’m not going to bother with trying to keep blogging while on vacation.

We’re down to less than two weeks till we leave for Disney World. We’re all very excited. I think Cowgrit is the most excited, followed by me. Both boys are anxious, but they don’t yet understand just how fantastic Disney World is, so they don’t really appreciate how exciting it will be.
For the past couple of days, and for the next few days, Cowgrit and I are planning the specifics of how we’re going to go through the various parks. We’ve got lunch reservations at some of the best restaurants (with some of the characters), so we have to plan around that. We know some of the attractions we want to see/ride are very popular, so we have to plan to get to them early or at slower times of the day, And we need to have rest and nap times for Calfgrit7 and Calfgrit3, so we have to schedule that in.
The funny thing I know is that no matter how much effort we put into this planning of it all, I’m sure the schedule is going to be blown to the wind within an hour of entering any park. If we actually make all five reservations on time, I’ll be surprised. But, planning, for Cowgrit, is half the fun of this whole escapade.

We’ve made plans to go to Disney World in September. Everything is all set up: the four of us plus my mom will be staying in the Port Orleans resort in DW. We’ve only vaguely mentioned it to the Calfgrits, because five months is a long time to wait for something as exciting as this.
Just now, as I’m writing this post:
Cowgrit asked, “You’re mentioning our vacation already?”
“Yeah,” I said. “What’s wrong with saying we’re going to Disney World for vacation?”
“Your fans will have to wait five months,” she said, “to read about the adventure.”
Anyway, we’re excited. Cowgrit and I went to DW for our honeymoon, almost 13 years ago. We stayed four days and three nights, and we had an absolutely wonderful time. This coming vacation will be six days and seven nights, and we expect to have a wonderful time again. Only this time, we’ll have two young boys (and their grandmother) to share the experience with us. It’ll be different, we know, but we’re planning for the difference.
I think we’ll all love it.
