Search for “blog” on Google and it gives you 1,220,000,000 results. That’s 1.2 billion Web pages. Use Yahoo! for the search and it gives 2,220,000,000 results.

I did the Google search and wrote the first two sentences above before I did the Yahoo! search. It’s interesting that Yahoo! gives exactly 1 billion more results than Google. It’s also interesting that both results apparently round off the number of results to the 10 millionth place. I have only a vague idea how Internet search engines find their results, and it stuns me that both searches took less than 1 second. Actually added together, they took less than one second.

Search for “peace” on Google and it gives 185,000,000 results. Yahoo! gives 255,000,000 results.

Search for “porn” on Google and it gives 97,200,000 results. Yahoo! gives 134,000,000 results.

Well, that makes the Internet look better than I expected. This gives me an idea for another search: “blog peace porn.” Google gives 1,250,000, and Yahoo! gives 3,120,000.

I really don’t have much to say right now, so I wasted my very first blog entry with stupid Google and Yahoo! search results. I hope I have better ideas for entries in the future. Else this site is really going to suck.

I think i’ll write myself a negative email and let me know how bad this site will probably be. That’ll teach me.
